This seated Buddha is shown on a rounded lotus throne, the right hand lowered in the earth-touching gesture and the left resting in meditation. The composed posture, engraved robe borders and clearly modelled lotus petals create a balanced devotional image.
Surface and workmanship
A thin historic gilded layer survives across the cast metal figure, with natural wear, darker oxidised margins and deposits in protected recesses. Hand-finished lines are visible on the robe and rear surface, while the direction and intensity of wear vary naturally across the sculpture.
Condition and construction
Stable overall, with visible wear and local losses to the gilding consistent with age and handling. The final photograph shows the open underside and rough casting interior. Please examine all ten photographs for the complete surface and condition.
