Wooden Buddha Statues

Across Southeast Asia, wood has long been used for temple and devotional sculpture, often finished with lacquer, gold leaf, pigment or natural oils. Over time these surfaces can develop the wear, cracking and layered patina that make an old wooden Buddha visually distinctive.
