Collection: Buddha Heads

Discover antique Buddha heads for sale in bronze, wood, stone and other traditional materials. Buddha heads and sculptural fragments can preserve some of the most expressive aspects of Buddhist art: the ushnisha, elongated earlobes, calm facial modelling, stylised hair curls and regional approaches to proportion and serenity.

This collection includes heads associated with Thai, Burmese, Chinese and other Asian traditions, ranging from smaller devotional fragments to large architectural or temple-scale examples. Some are complete sculptural heads, while others survive as historic fragments mounted for display.

Buddha heads from Thailand, Burma and across Asia

Regional style matters. Thai heads may show Ayutthaya, Sukhothai or later Rattanakosin influence; Burmese examples can reflect Mandalay, Shan or earlier traditions; Chinese pieces often differ markedly in facial modelling, hair treatment and surface finish. Material, weathering, patina, breaks, tool marks and remaining gilding can all contribute to understanding an older piece.
