Catalogue Note

A compact, richly decorated Thai Buddha seated on a stepped pedestal in Maravijaya Mudra, calling the earth to witness enlightenment. The figure is framed by pointed flame-like ornaments and crowned by a tall finial characteristic of ornate Rattanakosin devotional sculpture.

Original fire gilding survives across the face, body and architectural base, with natural loss, darkened recesses and surface wear from age and ritual use. Fine punched and incised decoration covers the robe, body and pedestal.

The underside remains filled and sealed with ritual material, including ash-like and mineral contents associated with consecration. Oxidation is visible around the metal edge; no modern restoration is apparent.
