Catalogue Note

A substantial Burmese temple ensemble representing monastic disciples traditionally identified as Sariputta and Moggallana. The three carved components retain layers of lacquer, gilding and mirror-glass decoration associated with late Konbaung and Mandalay workshop practice.

Surface & Condition

The figures preserve dark lacquer, red preparatory layers, gold leaf and coloured mirrored elements, together with natural timber movement and old tool marks. The identification of the disciples follows traditional iconographic interpretation; no inscription is presently cited. Antique condition with wear, losses and age-related surface change consistent with long devotional use.
