A substantial image of Amitayus, Buddha of Infinite Life, seated in meditation beneath an elaborate vegetal aureole. The composition combines a heavy architectural throne, lotus ornament and a central vessel associated with Amitayus iconography.
The open underside retains old casting material and the surface preserves gilding, dark patina and long-term wear. The Mustang and early dating are presented as a working art-historical attribution based on the sculpture's style, construction and current research, not as an inscription-dated fact.

Antique condition with surface wear, patina, casting residues and losses to the original gilding.
Iconography and Context
The composed posture and restrained expression belong to the visual language of Buddhist devotional sculpture. Balance, stillness and clearly readable gestures allow the image to function both as a sacred object and as a focused sculptural presence.

Surviving gilding, darker recessed areas and wear on raised details create a layered surface. The 15 photographs document the remaining finish, patina, casting and base from multiple viewpoints.
