A small four-armed Avalokiteshvara, or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of compassion in Tibetan Buddhism. The principal hands are joined before the chest, while the additional arms complete the characteristic four-armed iconography.

The compact format is consistent with a personal altar or portable devotional image. The bronze carries dark patina, wear and old casting residues visible through the open underside. The 18th-century dating remains an attribution.

Condition

Antique condition with patina, oxidation and devotional wear.
