A functional Tibetan prayer wheel, or Mani Khorlo, made from stitched leather around a wooden structure. The cylinder remains closed and contains tightly rolled paper material consistent with traditional mantra rolls.
Marking
An old red Chinese-style inspection or administrative seal survives on the underside. Its exact historical function and date have not been independently established, so it is recorded as a physical feature rather than used as definitive proof of a specific route or event.
Attribution and condition
The object is attributed broadly to the late Qing / early 20th-century period. The leather shows deep wear, cracking and handling patina consistent with prolonged use. The internal rolls have not been removed.
