A large Burmese Kinnara, the celestial human-bird figure associated with music, grace and devotion in Southeast Asian Buddhist culture. The figure is carved from hardwood and richly decorated with gilt surface work and glass inlay in the Mandalay decorative tradition.

Its height and sweeping winged silhouette make it an architectural-scale Buddhist sculpture rather than a small decorative figurine.

Condition

Good vintage/antique presentation with patina, surface wear and age-related losses to gilding or glass decoration.

Iconography and Context
