A monumental Javanese-style Buddha shown in Vitarka Mudra, the teaching gesture formed by the thumb and index finger. The broad lotus throne and stepped architectural base draw on the visual vocabulary of Central Javanese Buddhist monuments.

The bronze has a dark, warm patina and visible traditional casting texture inside the base. The dating remains an attribution based on the present catalogue assessment.

Condition

Good older condition with patina, surface wear and casting irregularities.
