Old Bronze Vishnu
This four-armed figure represents Vishnu, the Hindu preserver and protector. He is seated on a double lotus base beneath an openwork aureole, wearing a high crown, jewellery and traditional robes. One raised hand supports a conch shell, while the remaining hands hold or form further ritual attributes and gestures.
Dating and Surface
The dark bronze surface carries natural patina and wear across the raised details, and the open underside reveals the rough interior of the casting. These features support an older hand-cast object but do not establish a defensible century from the current documentation.
Condition
The bronze shows natural patina, wear and surface variation. The complete image sequence documents the sculpture from multiple viewpoints, including the reverse and base.
