Catalogue Note
This is a vintage interpretation of an older Thai style, not a medieval U Thong-period head. The green surface is a decorative verdigris patina that enhances the relief and should not be read as archaeological corrosion.
Condition
Good vintage condition with stable patinated surface and minor handling wear.
Iconography and Context
Presented without the full body, a Buddha head concentrates attention on the meditative expression, elongated earlobes, hair treatment and ushnisha. Surface and silhouette become especially important to the sculpture’s impact.
Condition and Display
The hollow-cast bronze surface shows the tonal variation, patina and raised-detail wear described in the catalogue note. The 9 photographs document the sculpture from multiple angles, including the reverse and base.
